Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics

Preventive Oral Hygiene Instruction:

This includes proper brushing, flossing and eating habits, ideal fluoride levels and the use of pit and fissure sealants. We strive to provide a fun, educational environment where children learn about the importance of good dental hygiene.

Restorative Dentistry:

This includes children’s fillings, crowns and nerve treatment. We are committed to discussing all options before these procedures and answering all questions you may have. Always working for the goal of a healthy smile is our first priority.

Sedation Dentistry:

Sedation dentistry refers to the use of sedation during dental treatment. Sedation is most commonly used during extensive procedures, for patients with dental phobia or for patients who find it difficult to sit still. There are several different types of sedation that we offer in office, including nitrous oxide (laughing gas) , oral sedation and IV sedation.  Both Dr. Jones and Dr. Harrison also have privileges at Primary Children’s Hospital if a child has special needs that necessitates their being seen in a hospital setting to receive dental treatment under general anesthesia.

Growth, Development & Orthodontics:

As pediatric specialists, Dr. Jones and Dr. Harrison are experts on the growth and development of children’s dentition, jaws and craniofacial structures as they age. As we see your children every six months for their regular dental checkups, we will monitor their growth and possible need for orthodontics. Our office stands apart from other pediatric dental offices in that respect, as Dr. Jones is one of only a handful of dual trained and dual board- certified specialists in the country in both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics.

Emergency Treatment:

While our goal is to prevent dental emergencies, we understand that the need for urgent dental care is sometimes necessary and can be a stressful experience for both parents and children. We strive to handle dental emergencies promptly and with compassion. If your child experiences a dental emergency after regular office hours, we have an emergency number where you can reach either Dr. Jones or Dr. Harrison.
